'Breathtaking Athens' shop open for business in Athens city centre
A new "Info-point" visitor information office has been opened on the ground floor of Public in Syntagma as part of City of Athens Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis' strategy to promote Athens as an urban destination.
The success met by the first Info-point at the "El. Venizelos" Athens International Airport led the Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company to forge an agreement with Public's management with the aim of creating a new point of service and contact in the heart of Athens for Greek and foreign visitors to the city.
Through the high quality of services provided, the new Info-point in Syntagma will present information highlighting the sights and services available in Athens in a creative way. Specifically, printed material available at the Info-point includes a map of the city and topic-centred brochures informing visitors to Athens about cultural monuments and sights, entertainment and leisure activities, eating out, nearby day-trip destinations and shopping. Special seasonal material is also available on events of interest to tourists taking place in Athens during a particular period.
In addition to information, Greek and foreign visitors to Athens will be able to purchase a new collection of tourist products focusing on the city at the first official tourist shop in Athens called "Breathtaking Athens."
Designed by a leading Greek designer, the new tourist products of Athens promote the city with their innovative style and showcase the exciting entity that is Athens today. Combining traditional Athenian elements with the city's more modern countenance, they emphasise its contemporary and fresh image.
Some of the items available at the "Breathtaking Athens" shop include mugs, T-shirts, magnets, pins and other souvenirs in a variety of designs and colours, making up a wealthy collection of objects to suit all tastes and occasions and providing excellent personal and business gifts.
Everyone is invited to visit!
