Increase in the average bookings in hotels in Attica

An increase in the number of bookings made at hotels throughout Attica was noted for the month of April. In accordance with the figures of the Athens Hoteliers Union- Attica, records show a positive average indication (0.70%) and an increase in the average number of bookings at 5 and 2 star rated hotels of 2.1% and 2.2% respectively. The EXAA comments on the relative stability of bookings in what is recognised as a critical month in the tourism calendar, in conjunction with the finding that, in recent times, Greece has been showing promising prospects as a destination for conferences, business meetings and other initiatives. In the light of this, the establishment therefore of the Athens Convention Bureau by the City of Athens and the Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company (ATEDCo) is deemed to be an extremely positive step in the right direction.
