The joint appearance of the Athens-Attica Hotels Association and the City of Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company (ATEDCo) at the ITB Tourism Show was deemed once more a great success. The event was held from 9 to 13 March 2011 in Berlin.

Under the initiative of the Mayor of Athens Nikitas Kaklamanis, the Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company (ATEDCo) took part in the international "Tourism & Travel in the Green Economy" symposium, held 14 and 15 September in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The City of Athens was awarded the Special Host Prize for its support and organised presence at the 74th Thessaloniki International Fair.

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand its international networking programme and broaden its know-how exchange base, the Athens Tourism and Economic Development Co. (ATEDCo), the official tourist entity of the City of Athens, has joined Destination Marketing Association International, a leading organisation in the area of international tourism.

As part of its targeted promotion programme showcasing Athens in major tourism markets, aimed at boosting the city's economy, ATEDCo as an official tourist entity of the City of Athens made a thorough presentation of the tourism product and the competitive advantages of Athens in the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA)'s Annual Members' Catalogue for 2009.

The City of Athens and the Athens Tourism and Economic Development Co. (ATEDCo) successfully hosted the Global Forum for Media Development World Conference in Athens.
