The joint appearance of the Athens-Attica Hotels Association and the City of Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company (ATEDCo) at the ITB Tourism Show was deemed once more a great success. The event was held from 9 to 13 March 2011 in Berlin.

The new study entitled "Study on the Progress and Prospects of Tourism in Athens and Attica ' was held on behalf of ATEDCo by the Tourism Research and Study Centre of the Department of Business Administration at the University of the Aegean in 2010.

Aiming to bolster the positive image of Athens abroad, the Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company (ATEDCo) invited eight distinguished journalists from Great Britain to visit the city and take a tour of the New Acropolis Museum and the unified archaeological sites in the Athens centre.

Under the initiative of the Mayor of Athens Nikitas Kaklamanis, the Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company (ATEDCo) took part in the international "Tourism & Travel in the Green Economy" symposium, held 14 and 15 September in Gothenburg, Sweden.

(ATEDCo), the official tourist entity of the City of Athens, has joined Destination Marketing Association International, a leading organisation in the area of international tourism.

ATEDCo CEO Panagiotis Arkoumaneas outlined the company's programme and plan of activities to promote Athens as a city breaks and convention destination at the 9th Airline Marketing Workshop.

With the support of the ATEDCO, Dionyssia will be hosted this year at the Zappeion Exhibition Centre in Athens from the 20th till the 22nd February.

ATEDCo made a thorough presentation of the tourism product and the competitive advantages of Athens in the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA)'s Annual Members' Catalogue for 2009.
