A new "Info-point" visitor information office has been opened on the ground floor of Public in Syntagma as part of City of Athens Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis' strategy to promote Athens as an urban destination.

Athens Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis inaugurated the City of Athens exhibitor stand at the 74th Thessaloniki International Fair.

The 43rd International Children's Games are coming to Athens for the first time. On June 23, the capital opens its gates and will welcome more than 2,000 children aged 12-15 from 80 countries around the world.

The Ministry of Tourism has launched an integrated communications and promotion programme showcasing Athens with five special events to take place in the USA and Europe in May and June 2009.
