The first seminar of the E-Tourism Seminars Roadshow was successfully completed in Athens, on 27 & 28 September 2011. at the Technopolis City of Athens (room "KostisPalamas", 100 Pireosstr, Gazi), brought by Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company (ATEDCo) and Athens Convention Bureau (ACB).

This practical and informative seminar was presented by E-Tourism Frontiers CEO, Mr. Damian Cook featuring special sessions by representatives of Expedia & TripAdvisor.

Following the success of the Info-Point at the Athens International Airport, two new Info-Points at the center of Athens, on Amalias Ave and Dionisiou Areopagitou conjunction, and the port of Piraeus are now open to the public. The Info-Points, part of Athens's Mayor Yorgos Kaminis's strategy for the promotion and projection of Athens and ATEDCo's Action Plan for 2011-2012, aim to provide Greek and foreign visitors with useful information and guidance about Athens's highlights and outskirts.

With a very optimistic outcome and positive messages regarding the position of Athens in the international conference market, the Athens Convention Bureau (ACB) of the City of Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company (ATEDCo) concluded their participation, for the fourth consecutive year, at the International Conference Show IMEX 2011 which took place from 24 to 26 May in Frankfurt.

With a very optimistic outcome and positive messages regarding the position of Athens in the international conference market, the Athens Convention Bureau (ACB) of the City of Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company (ATEDCo) concluded their participation, for the fourth consecutive year, at the International Conference Show IMEX 2011 which took place from 24 to 26 May in Frankfurt.

The City of Athens Tourism and Economic Development company during the opening ceremony of the 42nd XENIA Exhibition, on Friday, November 26, held a presentation entitled: "Athens: Actions to enhance and strengthen the development of tourism" in the exhibition center of Metropolitan Expo.

ATEDCo, which was invited as the official tourism body of city of Athens, was represented by Panagiotis Arkoumaneas CEO, who presented ATEDCo actions and developed the marketing strategy of the company.

The joint presence of the Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company and the Athens-Attica Hotels Association was deemed, once again this year, a great success at the 31th International World Travel Market Show, which took place 8-12 November in London.

For the fourth consecutive year in Athens, from 1 to 22 March and with two new activities - the Kids Festival and Soup Kitchens-Live Cooking -- recognised chefs will translate the atmosphere of various films into mouthwatering flavours.

A creative internet competition to design the benches of Athens begins with the aim of contributing to the improvement of life in the city. The City of Athens and the international non-governmental network, "World of Athens," are holding an international internet competion titled "Athens Bench Mark"
