Objectives
- Planning of actions for the support and promotion of the image of Athens as urban and congress destination via the participation in specialized exhibitions and campaigns, as well as directed communication and public relations policy.
- Planning strategies and supporting initiatives for prolonging the tourist period, strengthening of tourism and town's economy as well.
- Supporting the positive image, which the town acquired during the Olympic Games, and the creation of a competitive "brand" for Athens, that will promote not only the tourist product of Athens, but also of the wider prefecture, adding strong competitive advantage from other destinations.
- Upgrade and enrichment of the tourist product of the town in order to achieve the biggest possible improvement of tourist product of the town from high quality services and information of the visitors.
- Creation of special cooperation frameworks and networks between private and public sector for the tourist development of the town, as well as supporting cooperation among local tourist sector and international travel industry.
- Development of strategic initiatives for environment with main target the green development of the town, which is directly related to actions against climate change, as well as the promotion of viable forms of tourism, that respect the cultural identity of town, the social net and the natural environment.
- Support of employment, aiming the economic development of the town, adopting and realizing actions via a technocratic approach and a socially responsible strategy.
